While attending my first 24 Hours of Le Mans this past June, I met with the Licensing Manager of popular racing simulator Le Mans Ultimate, from the creators of rFactor 2 and Motorsport Games.

While the conversation began with me offering my services to assist with the inclusion of the #13 AWA Corvette, it quickly turned into another exciting project. They were looking for a new artist to provide them with the “Box Art” for the release of the V1.0 version of the sim. Having someone who designed liveries in real life, as well as for sim, was a great opportunity for myself and for the sim to showcase their connection to both the real-world and sim racing communities.

This meant completely custom 3D renderings showcasing the three “hero cars” of the V 1.0 release, including the Aston Martin Vakyrie in its’ official sim-racing debut. The cars and their liveries graciously supplied by the team at Motorsport games. Only minor tweaks were required, and an all-new background scene with “LM” pattern was created.

As for the #13 AWA livery, I created and submitted my own skin after LMU released the ability to upload custom liveries. This was sent along with the official livery print and layout files, giving the team at LMU the ability to create and include a 1:1 version of the livery within in their sim.
